Foot of the Lake Poetry Collective

       The Foot of the Lake Poetry  Collective is proud to present poets,

The Windhover Art Center presents the 2007-2008 Foot of the Lake Reading Series, featuring readings of poetry and other literary genres on the first Tuesday of each month. Attendance is free to the public, refreshments are available, and each reading is followed by an open mic session.

The Foot of the Lake series debuts Tuesday Oct 2nd with popular Madison poets Robin Chapman and Susan Elbe.

Robin Chapman is the author of nine collections of poetry, including Posner Poetry Award winners 'The Way In and Images of a Complex World:' 'The Art and Poetry of Chaos.' Her most recent book is 'The Dreamer Who Counted the Dead'; and the anthology co-edited with Judith Strasser, 'On Retirement: 75 Poems'. A recipient of a 2007 Literary Artist Fellowship from the Wisconsin Arts Board, Robin's poems have appeared in national publications, such as 'The American Scholar', 'The Hudson Review' and 'OnEarth'.

Susan Elbe is the author of two poetry collections, 'Eden in the Rearview Mirror' and 'Light Made from Nothing'. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in several journals, including 'Blackbird', 'Calyx', 'MARGIE'
and 'The North American Review', and her work has been widely anthologized.
She is the recipient of the 2006 Lorine Niedecker Award, the Calyx Lois Cranston Memorial Poetry Prize and a Rowland Foundation residency to the Vermont Studio Center. Susan serves on the Council for Wisconsin Writers Board and the Wisconsin Poet Laureate Commission.
