The Exhibit That Brought the World To Windhover

                  PBS Special www.wpt.org/inwisconsin

“Window of Genius” International Savant  Art Exhibit Closes.

The extraordinary international art exhibit that brought the world to Windhover Center for the Arts and Fond du Lac concludes this week.    A closing gala is planned for Saturday, October 13, beginning at 7 p.m.  The evening will include, live piano and harp music by Rashelle McCallum and Jack Talbot, cash bar, and appetizers provide by Linstrom’s.

“Windows of Genius:  Artwork of the Prodigious Savant was the first exhibit of this magnitude to showcase savant artists.  Over 1,500 people viewed through the exhibit, including, hundreds of student and adult education tours.   International press focusing on this exhibit were from Korea, Germany  and  Wisconsin, including a special feature by PBS.

“There is a little rain man in all of us,” Treffert says, noting that savant abilities range in spectrum from ‘splinter skills’ to prodigious.  “Prodigious is a high threshold term reserved for savants whose abilities would be spectacular and labeled ‘genius’ if seen in a non-disabled person,” Treffert explained. Come help us thank the people who made this exhibit and  spectacular event.

The exhibit was sponsored by  Agnesian HealthCare, Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation, and Fond du Lac Area Foundation. For more information call (920) 921-5410.
